অবকাশ দেবে কবে কবে সাহস পাবে প্রাণে
লজ্জা ভুলে সেই কথাটি বল্ব তোমায় কানে কানে।
মনের বনে অনুরাগে
কত কথার মুকুল জাগে
সেই মুকুলের বুকে জাগাও ফুটে ওঠার ব্যাকুলতা॥
আস্তে যদি হে অতিথি
ছিল যখন শুক্লা তিথি
ফুটত চাঁপা, সেদিন যদি চৈতালী−চাঁদ হাস্তে॥
রচনাকাল ও স্থান: গানটির রচনাকাল সম্পর্কে জানা যায় না। ১৯৩৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দের সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে (ভাদ্র-আশ্বিন ১৩৪৩) টুইন রেকর্ড কোম্পানি গানটি প্রথম রেকর্ড করে। এই সময় নজরুল ইসলামের বয়স ছিল ৩৭ বৎসর ৩ মাস।

There needs to be more information available regarding the song’s structure. In September 1936, the song was initially captured on record by Twin Record Company (Bhadra-Ashwin 1343). Nazrul Islam had 37 years and 3 months under his belt at this point in his life.
Kazi Nazrul Islam is one of the most prominent Bengali language poets and musicians who wrote the Nazrul Geeti or Nazrul Sangeet. In the short time of his career, he wrote around 3000 songs. He wrote the bulk of these tunes. The Bangladeshi national anthem, Chal Chal Chal, Urdhvagane Baje Madal, was written by him. During his lifetime, some of his songs, such as Ganer Mala, Gul Bagicha, Geeti Shatadal, Bulbul, etc., were collected in books. Later, additional songs were gathered.
